When it comes to SEO, everybody has their own way to achieve the first-page ranking in Google.
But not every way works.
The rule of SEO keeps changing all the time and what worked in the past might not work today.

Duplicated Content
Yes, gone is the day where you can just copy other people’s hardwork and then rank for it just because your page has more backlinks than the original one.
In February 2011, Google has introduced to the world a new update which is called Google’s Panda Update to combat low quality content as well as duplicated content.

Also, please bear in mind that this is updated from time to time.
It means a disqualified content will never rank for a very long time.
Backlink Spamming
Building backlink was an easy thing back then.
All you need to do was blog commenting with some sort of automated software which can build many backlinks at the push of a button.
And instantaneously you can get your site ranked at the first page.
The search engine has grown way too smart nowadays.
This shady method is not working anymore and it can even harm your page ranking.
In April 2014, Google has launched a new algorithm which is called Google Penguin Protocol.
This update is continuous and its purpose is to battle the black hat backlinking method.
If you are still doing black hat SEO, then it is best to stop doing that.
Keywords Spamming
It was a common practice for the SEO community to create different pages for different keywords even if it has almost the same meaning.
For example, let’s say we are writing an article about the “best electric shaver” and we also identify the “best electric razor” as another synonym keyword.
The search result for both keywords are as follows:

In this scenario, Google has the same search result for two different keyword phrases but with the same meaning.
There is no need to create 2 different pages to rank for different keywords.
Nowadays, Google is so smart that it understands the users’ search intent.
As long as the content is relevant, you will get the traffic you deserve.
With just one page containing different keywords, we can consolidate our backlink campaign to just one page.
This makes the whole SEO process more fun and fruitful.
What To Do In SEO
